Last night a few of us went to check out the inaugural launch of "Walk Street" at the riverfront. This new initiative creates a foot friendly zone from Wat Phnom to the Royal Palace. We dined at Pink Elephant Happy Pizza to a mediocre meal of breaded lasagna, onion rings, and Cambodia beer.

I am looking forward to the development of this initiative and hope the authorities listen to ideas from locals. Personally, I would like to see an area full of street performers, both traditional and modern acts. Also, I feel the street lights are too dark, which doesn't create a welcoming impression. I did not see a section for food vendors and booths selling local products, which I think would help boost local small businesses. I am sure all of these details are being worked on.
